What if there there were a way to oppose capitalism while also running a business?
I believe there is, but it requires more than lip service. It demands that we go bigger and broader than simply reconfiguring business-as-usual. It requires radical ways of rethinking money, value, reciprocity, access and equity.
We have to start anew without reinventing the wheel.
We have to build new and intentional ways of being inside the containers that already exist. We have to move beyond the automatic, and assumed. We must move towards that which we cannot fully fathom but lives as a glimmer in our hearts.
Doing business differently is about enacting possibility, bold experimentation and paradoxical thinking.
This is about collaboration. Generation. Replenishment and repair. This means turning away from extraction, isolation, depletion and destruction.
Doing business differently means letting go of “business as usual.”
Who I Am
My name is Bear Hebert, and I teach consultants, coaches, freelancers, artists, healers and other service-based business owners how to start, scale and run their businesses without selling their souls to the capitalist machine. I’ve run my own business since 2009, so I’ve had more than a decade of experience and experiments in pushing back against the status quo in my business.
My deepest purpose is to push us all in the direction of liberated moments.
You should know: All my work happens in an anti-oppressions framework. I recognize that capitalism is rooted in an interlocking system of white supremacy, patriarchy, ableism (and more). I’m pro-fat, -queer, -trans, and -sex workers. I’m actively looking at the intersections of power and privilege in myself and I’ll ask you to do the same.

A concentrated burst of deep digging and intimate support to help you re-envision how you run your business. Me and you, together for a month: wheeling, dealing and feeling our way into something new.
We cover everything from the nitty-gritty of client management and finances, to the big picture vision of how you want to serve the world.
If you’re newer to running a business, we can cover the basics like targeted marketing, website building, and lots of other behind-the-scenes stuff. If you’ve been at this for awhile, I have been too, so I can meet you where you are.
I’ll ask you to question EVERYTHING and to check your assumptions at the door. We’re diving into a radical restructuring of how you see your work in the world.

All of my work is in the service of relieving that discomfort, either by helping us to have more clarity about how to get to the future world, or by giving us more strategic ways to live in the world as it is. It’s really about liberation, both personal and collective.

The details:
We start off with an initial call to take a long, hard look at your business—where it’s thriving, where it’s struggling, and most importantly, where it’s out of alignment with what your heart deeply desires. We then meet weekly for 3 more weeks . In these 60-minute sessions, we dig into the praxis of building a new economy inside your business. Every call includes made-to-order homework assignments and personalized accountability.
In our fourth session together, we assess if our work together is complete. Though some clients are finished then, many clients continue collaborating with me as needed for years!
Throughout our work, I’m available via WhatsApp message for accountability, encouragement, editing help, and more.

To recap: You get 4 calls over one month, unique-to-you homework assignments, plus ongoing text message support.
